Compression Tooling Considerations for Continuous Manufacturing: Getting Off on the Right Foot

Natoli is teaming up with Rutgers University to offer this special presentation:

Wednesday, October 18, 2017 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Compression tool specifications typically follow the guidelines of the Tablet Specification Manual. Some tooling specifications may need to be reconsidered when using a continuous manufacturing process. Natoli’s experience with these specifications will be presented and discussed, offering those in attendance insights and solutions for different tooling and tablet press issues coming to light as continuous processing becomes more popular.

Topics will include:

  • Tooling tolerance impact on compression of formulations with a significant population of fine particles

  • Compression tooling working length variability

  • Formulation evaluation for scale up: What studies should be done or considered?

  • Punch head designs to optimize compression

  • Tablet press considerations for continuous operations
